Skin Care Recipes

Skin care recipes using organic ingredients you find around your kitchen and house don’t contain the nasty chemicals that can cause health problems.

Most of the odd ingredients (like beeswax and plant oils) can be found at your local health food store.

There are also many top quality essential oils that can be found online.

Have fun mixing and preparing these healthy skin care recipes.



Apricot & Lemon Lip Balm

    1 t Beeswax (5 ml)

    1 t Apricot kernel oil (5 ml)

    1 t Calendula oil (5 ml)

    Few drops essential oil of Lemon or orange

Melt the beeswax. While stirring constantly , add the apricot and calendula oils. Keep stirring as you remove from heat and then allow it to partly cool. Add the essential oils and then store in a small glass pot.

Yummy Body Scrub

    2 oz Apricot kernel oil

    1 oz Sunflower oil

    1 oz Jojoba oil

    1 oz Rice bran or oat bran

    6 drops essential oils of lavender or rosemary

Combine plant oils and heat together. Mix in essential Oils and bran. Before applying, get a large towel and stand on it before gently rubbing mixture into your skin in small, circular motions. Work from your toes to your neck but don’t apply to your face. Rinse off in a lukewarm shower, without soap. Then a blast of cold water before you get out of the shower and towel dry.

Peach Tightening Mask

    1 Peach, ripe, peeled, pitted

    1 Egg white

In a blender, whip peach and egg white together until smooth. Pat mixture gently all over your face, relax for 30 minutes and then rinse off with cool water.

Strawberry Drawing Mask

    1/2 c Strawberries, very ripe

    1/4 c Cornstarch

Make a paste with the strawberries and cornstarch together and apply to face. Avoid the delicate area around your eyes. Relax with mixture on your face for 30 minutes. Rinse it off with cool water.

Fresh Rosemary Facial Rinse

    1 tablespoon dried rosemary or 1 TB fresh

    2 tablespoons dried chamomile flowers or 1/4 cup fresh

    4 cups water

Boil all ingredients for 15 minutes. Then strain mixture and retain liquid, let it cool and put in a container. Wipe liquid over face, let it sit for 30 minutes before rinsing off with cool water
