Organic pet products, especially pet food, are increasingly popular with pet owners. Dog and cat lovers think of their animals as part of the family and desire to take care of them just as they would a child.
One look into your precious pet’s eyes and you know they have feelings just as you and I do. I know that I want my dog, Ruby and my cat, Blackie to be as happy and comfortable as possible. I want them to be with our family as long as possible so their health is important, too. Plus, no one likes paying a lof of vet bills!
Just as people are realizing the importance of eating food that is free of chemicals and pesticides, pet lovers are realizing the importance of feeding their animals the same quality of food they would eat. That doesn’t mean you feed them steak and potatoes (or fish and milk for the kitties) but you do want to
choose pet food
that has the healthiest possible ingredients.
If you really want to spoil your pet, you can also choose organic when you buy your pet’s toys, bedding and even clothing! Does your pet really know (or care) if they are playing with an organic toy or sleeping on a bed made from organic materials? Well, if your dog is anything like my Ruby, she licks and chews anything that strikes her fancy. Some of that stuff is designed for that purpose (dogs love to chew and lick) but if it gets swallowed, I want to make sure it doesn’t do her any harm.
Pet grooming products, like shampoos and flea control, are being made from organic ingredients to protect your pet from harsh chemicals that can damage their skin. Dogs and cats like to lick themselves and once again, you don’t want them swallowing something that’s going to do them harm long term.
Nutritional supplements for dogs and cats are being made with organic ingredients for the same reason people use them. Just like human food, it’s hard to get all the nutrition we need from food these days because of soil erosion and other factors so an organic nutritional supplement for your pet will help keep them healthy, too.
