Organic Chicken - Why It's Better
Why choose organic chicken? What’s wrong with non-organic or natural chicken? There’s a big difference between organic and conventional chicken because of it’s living conditions and what it’s been given to eat. All of these things affect the overall health of a chicken so the healthier it is, the healthier you are when you eat it!
If you see a label on your chicken that says “natural”, don’t assume it means it’s organic. It simply means that there have been no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives added to the chicken and that it’s been minimally processed.
Every chicken, then, could be called “natural”. Also, it might be injected with other “natural” substances like salt water and seaweed extract.
An organic chicken has
never been given antibiotics, hormones or drugs
Always been fed organic grains
Been raised in a stress-free environment where it’s free to roam and eat healthy
It's better for you because it’s been raised healthier and as a result, it tastes better. Try this recipe with apricot preserves that brings out the natural taste of the chicken.
